Obituary for Enrico Giuseppe "Rickey" Zoccoli

Enrico "Rickey" Zoccoli of Nyack passed away peacefully with his loving
family by his side on August 9, 2012. Rickey was born to Silvia and
Giovani Zoccoli. He recently celebrated his 98th birthday with his
family. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Angeline
(Bocchino) for 70 years.

Rickey proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII.
Before being deployed to Karachi India, he served as an Italian
interpreter in Tullahoma, Tennessee at Northern Field, where Italian
POW's were housed. He was a life long member of Willis Polhemus VFW Post
9216 in Upper Nyack. He proudly marched and participated in the
Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies each year in Nyack.

Rickey was also a life long member of the Nyack Community Ambulance
Corp. He was also an active member at St. Ann's Church where he
volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul's food pantry and the Holy Name
Society. Rickey worked as a chef at the Venice Restaurant in Upper
Nyack and head chef for 36 years at Lederle Lab in Pearl River, until
his retirement. After his retirement he worked at Hannemann Funeral
Home for many years.

In addition to his wife, Rickey is survived by his two daughters, Sylvia
and Don Diehl and Linda (Cookie) McGillicuddy. He also has four
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; Danny McGillicuddy and his
daughter Emma, Rickey and Kelly McGillicuddy and their son Danny, Don
and Sandy Diehl and their children Derek, Zachary and Danielle and Dana
and Mike Puccio and their children Makayla and Evan. Rickey was also
the proud Godfather and pen pal to Max Yacopino. He also leaves behind
many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Dario (Dots),
his sister Gina and his beloved son in law, Dan "Mack" McGillicuddy.

Visiting will be held on Sunday, August 12th 2-4 and 6-8 at Hannemann
Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 10am Monday at St. Ann's Church in Nyack. Burial
will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in New
Hempstead, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rickey's
name to Meals on Wheels/Bobbi Lewis Center, 121 West Nyack Road, West
Nyack, NY 10954.
