Mr. Joe Jemison, a native of Fairhope, AL departed this life October 17, 2015 at the age of 50. He was one of seven children born to the union of the late Joe Louis Jemison and Doris Watkins Jemison. Joe “Rock” grew up in Nyack, NY with his siblings where he attended Nyack Public Schools. Although Joe wasn’t a biological father he was a father figure to many including his Godson, Taison. He worked at various companies in Rockland County however his heart was knitted to Nyack Hospital where he was employed for 32 years.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Doris; three brothers: Brent Jemison Sr., Reginald (Harriet) Jemison Sr. of Nyack, NY, Andrew (Danielle) Jemison of Monroe, NY; four sisters: Carolyn (Albert) Hargrove, Andrea Jemison of AL, Rita Jemison of Nyack, NY Eleanor Louise (Jerry) Cox, Monsey, NY; 6 nieces, 8 nephews, 11 great-nieces and great-nephews, many aunts and uncles and other relatives, his Nyack Hospital Family, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at St. Philip’s AME Zion Church, 14 N. Mill St. in Nyack. Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 9:00 am at St. Philip’s.
