Obituary for George A. O'Shea

George A. O'Shea, of West Nyack , passed away on Wednesday March 24, 2016. He was 75. He was born in Nyack on July 19, 1940 to Timothy and Catherine O'Shea. Mr. O'Shea enlisted in the U.S. Army when he was 17 and served in the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the Clarkstown Police Department for over 28 years and he retired at the rank of Lt. He was an active member of the Blauvelt Knights of Columbus and the Piermont Police Athletic League activities committee. He loved to spend time with his family and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Elfriede O'Shea and sisters Maryann Hurst and Margaret O'Shea and niece Mary Hurst . Survived by: two sons Michael & Janet O'Shea , Pat & Siobahn O'Shea, three daughters Marion & Rick Riley, Theresa & Dave Broadhurst, Rosie & Gille Obermeyer. Brother Timothy & Marie O'Shea, grandchildren Doug Adams, Theresa Adams, Anthony O'Shea, Michael O'Shea, Cara O'Shea, Kailey O'Shea, Riley O'Shea, Patrick O'Shea, Amanda Broadhurst, Jennifer Broadhurst, Dave Broadhurst,Michael Riley and George Obermayer and one great grandchild, Douglas Adams.
Nephew Tim O'Shea, Niece's Nancy and Marie O'Shea.
A Mass of Christian Burial will beheld on Tuesday March 29 10:00am at Saint Anns church in Nyack, with burial to follow at Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Nyack. Visiting hours are scheduled for Monday March 28 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. Nyack.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his George’s memory to the Piermont Police Athletic League, 478 Piermont Ave., Piermont, NY 10968
