Obituary for Ruth Decker Ingram

Ruth Decker  Ingram
Ruth Decker Ingram formerly of Orangeburg, NY and Barnegat, NJ passed away peacefully at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence on January 1, 2017 at the age of 89. Ruth is predeceased by her husband James C. Ingram. Ruth worked as a dedicated real estate professional in the County for many years before pursuing a career as a corporate relocation specialist. Ruth’s life’s passion was giving to the Grace Episcopal Church community in Nyack, NY, where she took on many leadership roles; serving as the President of the Episcopal Church Women, the first female Senior Warden in the church's history and later as a Eucharistic Lay Minister. Ruth is survived by her three daughters: Joan Rothenay (David) of Jefferson City, MO, Phyllis Ingram Fischer (Donald) of Nyack, NY and Liz Ingram Walsh (Christopher) of White Plains, NY, in addition to her seven beloved grandchildren: Drew and Clayton Carrington, Elizabeth, Sarah and Katherine Fischer, and Meghan and Colin Walsh. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her caregivers Nora, Gina, and Dee of Northern Manor Nursing Home who cared for Ruth compassionately and with dignity for the past 6 years. Visitation will be held at Hannenman's Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3 from 4 – 7 pm. A funeral service of Christian burial will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on Wednesday, January 4, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium Fund, Grace Episcopal Church, 130 First Avenue, Nyack, New York.
