Obituary for Anthony Paone Jr.

Anthony  Paone Jr.
Anthony Paone Jr of Lake Hiawatha NJ, formerly of Nyack NY passed away suddenly on Saturday July 1 2017. Anthony was born to Anthony Paone Sr. and Mary Ryder Paone on April 25, 1959 in Nyack NY. His father Anthony Paone Sr. was a member of the Nyack Police Department and his mother, Mary Frances Ryder is a longtime Nyack resident. He attended St Ann’s Elementary School and Nyack High School. Throughout these years he made many lifelong friends and developed a love of sports. He participated in the Valley Cottage Indians football league where the team enjoyed a winning season and traveled to Florida to compete in the championship games. In Nyack High School he participated in Football, Hockey and Lacrosse. He was chosen for the All-County teams in Football and Lacrosse. He also excelled in academics being inducted into the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. He attended the State University of New York at Geneseo graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Economics. He was a member of the economics honor society, Omicron Delta Epsilon. His professional career was concentrated in financial fields as he had a brilliant mind for numbers. At the time of his death he was Controller for Health Republic Insurance of New Jersey based in Newark NJ. He was an avid cyclist and he fulfilled his dream of traveling to France to attend the Tour de France. He loved watching sports especially football and hockey.
He was an extremely kind and generous man and was loved by all who knew him. Ever joyful, he was the light that lit everyone else’s candle. He was strong with a tender heart and loved all animals. He was deeply loved by his family, his friends and his work colleagues.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, the former Diane Dollinger originally of Nanuet NY. His mother, Mary Paone of Nyack. His mother-in-law, Karol Holmes of Tamarac FL. His sisters, Mary Rose Iannacone (George) of Solon OH, Dr. Nancy A. Paone (Mark Volpe) of Cornwall NY, Carolyn Phillips (Jeff) of Valley Cottage NY. His brother-in-law Robert Dollinger of Tampa FL. His aunts and uncles Michael Palmenti of Sparkill NY, Angelo Paone (Joan) of Melbourne Beach FL, Joseph Paone (Nilda) of Middletown NY and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Anthony Paone Sr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday July 5 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway Nyack NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday July 6 at St. Ann’s Church, 16 Jefferson Street Nyack NY. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Nyack NY.
