Obituary for James A. DeSousa

James A. DeSousa, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 17th at his home in Blauvelt. James served in the Navy as a staff photographer and met and married his wife, Eileen, in 1952 and moved to Rockland and raised their family of four.
James retired from the photo production industry and enjoyed time with his family, watching Yankees 24/7 and soaking up the sun by his pool.
James is survived by his son James (Arlene), daughters Theresa and Laura (Kevin); grandchildren, Aaron, Alexandra (Gregory), Marissa (James), Alyse (Robert), Jessica (Lindon), Ashley; great grandchildren, Arley, Sage, Carson, Harper Lily; and sister Hilda and brother Robert. James was preceded in death by his wife Eileen; son Thomas; sister Dorothy; and brothers Alexander, Harold, Calvin and John.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, October 20th at Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held Saturday, October 21th at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack, NY at 8:30 am. Burial will follow at Rockland County Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).
