Obituary for Gustavo Arnoldo Yubero Dash

Gustavo Arnoldo Yubero Dash, of South Nyack, NY, passed away in the early morning of January 2, 2018. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and emigrated with his mother to New York City in 1962.

In 2016, Gus retired from Verizon Wireless in Orangeburg, NY after a 24-year career in IT management. Prior to Verizon, Gus worked at Waldenbooks in Stamford CT and Materials Research Corporation in Orangeburg NY. He graduated from Midwood High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1974.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen Dash, his daughter Mallory, and granddaughter Haley. He also leaves behind his mother Martha Dash, his brother Daniel, and cousin Cristina Dellagiovanna, along with his cherished family in Long Island. In addition, Gus is survived by a large extended family in Argentina who will keep him in their hearts.

Gus was an avid golfer and music lover, and a diehard fan of both the Yankees and Jets, in good times and bad. Gus enjoyed cooking, attending concerts and baseball games with his daughter, going on vacations with his family and spending time at home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gus’ memory to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the United Hospice of Rockland (Joe Raso House) would be greatly appreciated by the Dash family.

Visiting will be held on Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack, NY. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 11 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 112 N Main St,, Pearl River, NY 10965.
