Condolence: Still thinking of you, my friend, and how you used to say that you kept telling yourself everything would be OK. Your words and faith inspire me still. God bless you and keep you. Amen.

Condolence: I work at the same place Maria did. Though we didnt talk too often, I always appreciated her kindness and willingness to help others. She had the type of soul that just lit the space around her. I cherish the few times we spoke, I wish I could have spent more time getting to know her. She will be missed.

Condolence: Maria, you have enriched every soul lucky enough to have spent a moment with you, and I am one of the many. I miss you very much. I hope it's okay that I have been speaking out load to you. I know you are listening, as you alway did. Offering your great advice. You probably know already, but I have taken your advice and carry a lighter bag, a back pack to be precise, as you would be. Remember when we used to run at lunch? The laughs, you always told me "almost there" "couple more blocks," it was 20 blocks there and 20 back all within one hour. I look forward to doing that again with you Maria.

Condolence: My good friend, I have so many beautiful memories of our trips to museums and eating at diners. Your energetic approach to everything and continued hope in a better future was always a positive in this sometimes negative world. I am really blessed to have walked with you a little way and I will see you at the finish line.

Condolence From: Bayla
Condolence: I am deeply saddened to recently learn of Maria’s passing. Saddened that she succumbed to this terrible illness and that sheer determination and perseverance were simply not enough to prevail in this long fought battle. Maria put up a heck of a fight though!

That was Maria. A very resolved, stoical, and deeply private warrior. From outward appearances, one would never know the fierce internal battle she was facing. She did not complain and she certainly did not let this illness define her. On the contrary, she immersed herself in Yoga and Pilates to tone, strengthen, and discipline her mind and body. And in the process invoked a dogged fighting spirit and forceful passion to triumph over the effects of her medical anomalies. She cultivated these beliefs and adjusted her mindset, working tirelessly and diligently to quickly earn multiple certifications and accolades in the physical fitness industry. Maria went on to become a highly regarded and sought after Pilates trainer and instructor. Inspiring so many to follow by her example. She touched so many lives.

Maria had a unique, profound, and unassuming way of affecting everyone she interacted with. An unpretentious, petite whirlwind, and bundle of energy with an infectious smile and even more infectious laugh. She loved a good challenge, was highly creative and imaginative, and quick-witted. Maria was a beautiful, caring, kind, and generous soul.

It was an honor to call Maria a friend, and I am certainly a better person by having her (although too briefly) in my life.

I shall always miss đź’”Mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, my Gemini sister.

Rest in peace.
