Sister Mary Carmel Mc Eneany, O.P., formerly Mary Mc Eneany, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York for the past 65 years died on February 27, 2018 in St. Martin De Porres Community at the Motherhouse. Sr. Mary Carmel was 83 years of age.
Sr. Mary Carmel was born to Edward and Mary McKenna Mc Eneany in New York City. She entered the Sisters of St. Dominic on September 10, 1953 from St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish, Bronx, N.Y. She received the Dominican Habit on July 5, 1954, professed first vows on July 6, 1955 and final vows on July 6, 1958.
Sister held a BS in Education from Dominican College, Orangeburg, NY and an MS in Guidance and Counseling from Fordham University.
Sister’s many years in ministry were devoted to the education of youth. Sister taught in the following schools: Our Savior (1957-1962), and St. Luke’s, (1968-1969), Bronx, N.Y.; St. Joseph, Millbrook, N.Y., (1962-1968); Fr. Lopez HS, Daytona. FL., (1969-1975); St. Martin De Porres, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., (1975-1988); and St. John, Goshen, N.Y., (1988-1991.)
Sister Mary Carmel became an Adult Transfer Counselor at Dominican College in 1991 and served there until she retired in 2015.
In addition to her religious congregation, Sr. Mary Carmel is survived by her sisters, Sr. Barbara McEneany, O.P., Kathleen and her husband, Hank Singer, her brother Edward, her cousin Sr. Kieran Milligan, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.

Wake: Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Evening Prayer: Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.

Burial: St. Dominic’s Cemetery immediately following Mass

Arrangements have been made by Hannemann Funeral Home, Nyack, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, N.Y.
