Obituary for James Peter Calhoun

James Peter  Calhoun
James (Jim) Calhoun 86, died March 4, 2018.



Jim was born to Nora(O'Conner) and James F. Calhoun, May 30, 1931 in Astoria, Queens, NY and was raised in West Nyack.



Jim lived in Nyack and later in Upper Nyack with his wife, Diana of 52 years, while raising their family.



Jim proudly served his country in 1951 with the Marines during the Korean War. Jim worked as a machine adjuster in Continental Can and



then as a plumber until his retirement in 1998. Jim had a passion for airplanes, especially flying single engine air planes and gliders;



he also enjoyed bird watching, bowling and fishing and the years spent with community image groups in Marriage Encounter.



Jim was predeceased by his son Donald (2/11) and his nephew Robert StDenis(8/17).



Survivors include: wife, Diana (Schoenknecht), son Demetrian (DJ) and daughter Barbara Hunken and his three beloved grandchildren:



Zoe (20), Lea (17), Mae (15) Calhoun; sister Theresa, (Robert Sr) StDenis; brother Richard, (Katherine) Calhoun; and two nieces and four nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Thursday March 8, 2018 at 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hahnemann Funeral Home, Inc.



88 S. Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960 and Mass on Friday at 10:00am at St Ann's church, burial will be at the Oak Tree Cemetery in Nyack, NY.
