Obituary for Susan "Sue" Reilly

Susan Reilly, of West Nyack, died peacefully on March 19, 2018 surrounded by love. She was born on October 14, 1942 to Daniel and Mary Malone in New York, New York. After graduating from the nursing program of Jersey City Medical, Susan proceeded to work at Columbia Presbyterian followed by a tenured position as the nursing skills lab coordinator and instructor at Rockland Community College.

For anyone who knew Susan, she had an amazing heart and relished time with her husband, family and friends, as well as a love for traveling. During 52 years of marriage to her soulmate Owen, they have spent a significant amount of their time enjoying life in Rhode Island and Boynton Beach, Florida.

When home in West Nyack, they have been passionately involved in Marriage Encounter and an active part of their parish of St. Ann’s. Susan will be forever remembered by her beloved husband, Owen Reilly, sister Patricia Spruck and family of four children: Kerri Butler (Darrin) of Cherry Hill, NJ; Kim Walsh (Sean) of Pearl River, NY; Owen Reilly (Michelle) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Colleen Abramowski (Dan) of West Nyack, NY. Susan’s most recent passion, was being a loving grandmother to eight amazing grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 26th, at 10 a.m., at the Parish of St. Ann’s, 16 Jefferson St. Nyack, NY 10960. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 25th at Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. 88 South Broadway Nyack, NY between the hours of 2- 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sue to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or The United Hospice of Rockland.
