Harriet Owens

Harriet J. (Hattie) Owens, died peacefully on April 3, 2018, at home in Newburgh, NY with her family by her side.

Harriet was born on December 16, 1924 in Tuckahoe, NY to Julia and Walter Fleming. She married Loomis W. Owens Sr, on October 26, 1946. This union was blessed with 10 children. Harriet and Loomis lived and raised their children in Nyack, NY. In 1981 they moved to Orange County, NY and Harriet later retired from Nyack Manor Nursing Home in 1992.

Harriet enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Harriet is preceded by her husband Loomis W. Owens Sr., her daughter Saundra Owens, her sons Wayne Owens and Lance Owens. She is survived by her children Janice (Gangy) Owens, Harriet (Sis) Owens, Loomis (Babe) Owens Jr., Elizabeth (Liz) Coleman, Denise (Dee) Owens, Donna McFarlane, and Dreen Blacknall; 13 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nefphews.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018,
10am at:
