Dwayne Thurman

Dwayne Thurman was born on July 4, 1977 at Nyack Hospital, Nyack NY to Mary Whatley and Henry Thurman. He departed this life on Sunday, April 22, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Dwayne grew up in Central Nyack, NY. During most of his adolescence, Dwayne spent many days at the Central Nyack Center. He was involved in playing basketball, pool and all activities that were offered. Dwayne attended Nyack School District and took courses to become an X-ray technician at Rockland Community College. During his studies he worked at Wyeth for eight years. However, his passion was being a DJ. Dwayne (DJ Kado), had an ear for music as a young child. At the early age of 15, he begged his mother for two turntables, and the rest was history. He began practicing with his parent s’ old vinyl records and eventually established his own collection of music. Kado found a local DJ named “Bump City” who took him under his wing and made him his protégé. From that point on, they would practice daily and hone in on their skills together. Kado always knew that once he was on turntables, he had the ability to trademark his sound amongst the ears of anyone listening. DJ Kut Kado a/k/a The Crowd Controller kicked off his career by doing local house parties, barbeques, schools and public venues. He performed at weddings, sweet sixteen events, and many charitable events. He later established Kut Kings Entertainment. Kut Kings Entertainment produced an app for listeners throughout the world. Dwayne met Ailyn (Germosen) Thurman in high school and began dating on May 19, 1995. Their relationship blossomed into him marrying the love of his life on August 24, 2006. On September 10, 2016, Ailyn and Dwayne welcomed their baby girl, Nyla Amina Thurman.
