Condolence From: Frank White
Condolence: I have encountered no man more loyal to DEA than Joe. He is a remarkable man who utilized his education and abilities perfectly in his service to his nation and his fellow agents. On more than one occasion his involvement in a case turned it from mediocrity into excellence. Almost as significant is the fact while bringing order out of chaos, he made all of us have fun in the process. His aggressiveness and yes, sense of humor, was unsurpassed, and he managed to use these as well as his other talents brilliantly in locking up the bad guys. Joe was imbued with the virtues of integrity and industry, skill and enterprise, courage and perseverance. Joe was my buddy and I would have fought with Joe through the gates of Hades. Condolence: Heartfelt condolences to the entire Salvemini family; though we only met him a few times, we knew Joe through his illustrious career, his daughter Josephine and the wonderful family she has made, furthering Joeโ€™s true legacy of commitment to family and courageous and caring Italian American traditions. The baton has been passed and Joe handed it off with a gigantic lead. Well done, honorable and faithful servant, ever the noble patriot. Mike & Trish Edmiston

Condolence: I was saddened to learn of Joe's passing. We were both Inspectors in DEA Office of Internal Security at the same time and worked together on 3 investigations. He was tenacious but fair. I spoke with him several years ago and he sounded like the same old Joe. Love of life, work and most of all family. My condolences to his loved ones. RIP .

Condolence: Kind thoughts and blessings to the Salvameni family. I first met Joe when I was a new agent in NYC. He was a fantastic investigator and an interesting guy to be around. Interacted with him numerous times over my career. I met with once after we were both retired. Was not surprised that he was working for the Bronx DA office. Joe loved the action. Been about ten or more years ago since that encounter but I smile when I remember Joe.

Condolence: Joe was a friend for many years and we worked together at DEA in NYC. I remember one time when he asked for our prayers because his toddler had been running with a scissors and fell onto the sharp end and was hospitalized. I was present many years later at a training session when Joe took on the Deputy Director of the FBI over the ethics of allowing informants to commit crimes as part of their cover. Joe was right of course. It was a proud moment for DEA. Joe always had a strong and solid ethical core that set him apart from others. My condolences to the family on their loss and my gratitude to them for sharing with the rest of us this fine person and example of how we all should live our lives. May he rest in peace.
