Marjorie Windheim
Piermont - Marjorie Windheim, a long time Piermont resident, teacher and social worker for Rockland County, passed away on November 17, 2018. She was 84 years old.
Marjorie was born to Mark and Bertha Silberberg on March 21, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ. Marjorie graduated from the University of Connecticut and went on to get her Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University.
The first part of her professional life was dedicated to early childhood education. Mid career, Marjorie joined the Rockland County Department of Social Services, where she served for 37 years. Marjorie saw her work as a calling and did everything she could do to improve the well being of those who needed her help most.
Marjorie loved the arts, traveling, reading and cooking. She was also an avid walker / runner and would be seen daily on her beloved Piermont Pier.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, her husband Thomas, son Daniel, son Andrew, his wife Jenny, her grandchildren Grace, Alexander and Ryan, her brother Joseph, his wife Renee, her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be remembered as a dedicated and loving soul who devoted her life to the care of others.
A memorial service for Marjorie will be held at 11:00 am, December 15, 2018 at the Piermont Village Hall, 478 Piermont Avenue, Piermont, NY 10968.
