We knew him to be a most remarkable gentleman whose innovative research led to the development of several novel treatments which remain central to the practice of medicine to this day. Coumadin, an oral blood thinner, has been used to prevent blood clotting and strokes since its invention. Minocycline has been used for the treatment of scarring cystic acne saving the face and lives of grateful patients. Today minocycline is one of the few available antibiotics for the treatment of MRSA infections and therefore potentially life saving. I had not had the honor of meeting your mother Anna but had only spoken to her on the telephone when she resided in Jupiter, Florida. Dr. Zbinovsky was indeed an amazing man and we are most saddened to hear of his passing.
