Obituary for Eleanor M. Utzig

Eleanor M.  Utzig
Eleanor Utzig of Nyack, NY, died peacefully at home on Monday, February 8, 2016 after a long illness. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ellen (Noone) Craig, her brother Michael and sister, Sister Nancy Craig, MFIC. Eleanor is survived by her children Anne Gabrielson and son-in-law Robert Gabrielson Jr. of Haverstraw, NY and Michael Utzig; her sisters, Sister Michele Craig, MFIC, Newton, MA, Charlotte Walsh, Ambler, PA, Joan Craig, Charlotte, NC and sister-in-law Joan Murphy Craig, Pearl River, NY, her grandchildren Katarzyna Resto, Nicholas Keefer, Cecilia and Michael Utzig, many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Eleanor was active in the Democratic Party of Rockland County for many years as well as a Board Member of the Rockland County Community Council on Alcoholism. Eleanor was employed for twenty-five years at the Rockland County Community Mental Health Department. She was a graduate and a loyal alumna of Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY, Thursday February 11, 2016 from 4 PM – 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, 16 Jefferson Street, Nyack, NY at 10 AM on Friday, February 12, 2016. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of choice in Eleanor's name.
