Maria de los Angeles Ortiz y Toro of Valley Cottage, NY passed away on January 12, 2018. She was born in the town of Candelaria, Lajas, Puerto Rico to Juan Jose Ortiz y Tellado, and Juana Toro y Montalvo. Maria was a housewife and very devoted Catholic. She is pre-deceased by her husband Juan Ruiz y Diaz, son John Ruiz, and grandson Anthony Ruiz. She is survived by daughters, Johanna Ruiz of West Nyack, NY., and Judith Ruiz of Brooklyn, NY. Her surviving sisters are Regina del Carmen Rodriguez and Luz Maria Figueroa both of Puerto Rico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Ann’s RC Church in Nyack. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY.
