Obituary for Charles "Charlie" White

Charles "Charlie"  White
Charles White (Brown Goose, Big Cans, Big C, Big Hands, Bussey, Butch and Nyack 7) passed away peacefully in his home on April 30th. He was 72 years Old.
Born in Mobile Alabama, his parents’ names were Bessie Mae White and Charles Lockett. Together there was 10 kids in the family. He moved to Brooklyn N.Y. and eventually to Nyack. He started working for Nyack Express Moving company and eventually worked for Oak Hill Cemetery with his brother Joe until 1989 then was a parts driver for Nyack Auto Part and Miele Auto Parts (Pearl River, NY).
When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and the harmonica. He was mostly seen on Gesner St catching river monsters with his best friend Red. He played with some musicians around Nyack. His favorite type of music was Blues, and anything related to James Brown or B.B. King.
He joined Nyack Community Ambulance where he is a life member, his regular shift was Friday nights 7p-7a.
He is Survived by his kids Willie, Janice and Robert White, Sister-in-law Ernestine Jones. He has two surviving sisters Mary Wright-Delaware, Cherri-Ann-Baltimore. Two brothers Jonathan White -Orangeburg, SC and Reverend Dr. Frankie Lee White, host of cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his brothers and Sisters Fred Douglas, Howard White (Jap) Willie Mae White, Austeria Scalla, Rosie Miller and his two son’s Charlie White (1972) and Lucas Smyrychynski (2000).
