Paul Muscarella of Valley Cottage, NY, was 87 years old when he passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2018. Paul was born on October 21, 1930 in Sciara - a small town in Sicily, Italy. His parents were Pasquale and Biagia Muscarella. Paul was the oldest of seven children. He served in the Italian army in his 20's. In 1954 he met, and shortly thereafter, married Anna Viverito, an American girl from the Bronx. Together they had two children, Cecilia and Carmela. Paul worked in the A&P as a butcher for over forty years. After his wife Anna passed away he moved to Congers, NY where he lived with his daughter, Cecilia and her family. Cecilia was married to Bruno Scanga and had three children, Danielle, Stephanie, and Matthew. After Bruno's passing, Cecilia re-married to Andrew (Andy) Lawrence. That same year, Paul re-married to Angelina (Angie) Babcock and they resided in Nyack before moving to Valley Cottage. Angie had two sons from her first marriage, John and Rye. Rye is married to Anne and they have four children, Connor, Shane, Shannon, and Cole. Paul is survived by a large family, including his wife, Angie, his daughters, Cecilia and Carmela, his son-in-law Andy, his step-children John, Rye, and Anne, his grandchildren Danielle, Philip, Stephanie, Joe, Matthew, Connor, Shane, Shannon, Cole, Andy, and Jennifer and great-grandchildren George, Stella, Elianna, Hannah, Antonia, Bryce, and Riley. Paul is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Frank, Cecilia, Natale, Giuseppe, Philip, and Anna, his nieces and nephews, and many friends. Paul loved cooking and making homemade wine and sauce. He enjoyed playing bocce and gardening. He was a simple, hardworking man with strong family values. He will be missed greatly by all.

Visiting will be held on Monday from 3-8pm at Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Church in Nyack at 10am on Tuesday, followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland or to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Nyack.
