Obituary for Roberta "Bobbie" Galbreth Holloway

Roberta “Bobbie” Galbreth Holloway passed away on August 9, 2018. Bobbie was born September 30, 1926 Vallejo, California. She is the Daughter of Mrs. Ruth Charters Galbreth of Nyack, New York and Joseph Galbreth, Jr. also of Nyack, New York, (both deceased).
Bobbie graduated Nyack High School in 1944. Bobbie studied Registered Nursing and is a graduate of
Mt Sinai Hospital School of Nursing New York City 1947. Bobbie and her Mother moved to Miami, Florida where Bobbie worked as the Director of the Practical Nursing Program at Mt Sinai Hospital Miami Beach. Bobbie married Former Florida State Senator Vernon Carlyle Holloway Miami, Florida, (deceased), owner Interstate Electric Company, Miami. Three children, Jean Holloway Ledew, Lake City, Florida; Vernon Carlyle Holloway, Jr. (deceased); Lee Anthony Holloway, High Springs, Florida. The Grandchildren are Mrs. Jeannie Ledew Cartee, Pensacola Florida; Miss Suzanne Michelle LeDew, Pensacola, Florida; Mrs. Ashly Ann Oria-Adams, Concord, North Carolina; Anthony Vernon Holloway, Maple Grove, Minnissota; Ms Amanda Ella Holloway, Lake City, Florida; Miss Megan Michelle Holloway, High Springs, Florida. There are also five Great Grandchildren. While living in Miami, Bobbie was a member of the Easter Star and was Worthy Matron of the Biscayne Bay Chapter # 75 OES.
Bobbie and Vernon moved to their home in Tallahassee, Florida where Bobbie was instrumental in the organization and forming of Tarsus Temple #161 Daughters of the Nile. During the year 2000 Bobbie was installed as the first Queen of Tarsis Temple, Daughters of the Nile. In recent years, Bobbie was a resident of Westminster Oaks Retirement Community Tallahassee, Florida.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY at 10 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
