Obituary for Rosetta Lee

Rosetta Lee was born October 16, 1933 to the late Cassandra Mae Seward and James Matthew Seward. She answered the Master’s call on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Rosetta was predeceased by her parents, her uncle Robert Rucker, her seven brothers; John “Johnnie” Seward, James “Subu” Seward, George Seward, Alex “Merl” Seward, Herman “Hisman” Seward, Samuel “David” Seward and Louis “Bosco” Seward; and four sisters, Roxanne “Rock” Gails, Martha “Mottie” Morris, Harrietta “Red” Foss (Her Twin), and Lillian “Goonie” Seward.

Rosetta, better known as “Aunt Rose,” “Sister Lee,” “Mother Lee,” and to some of the children back in the day because of her Usher Uniform, “Dr. Lee.” grew up in Nyack where she was educated in the Nyack School system.

Rosetta was married to the late Milton Lee, Sr. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. John Deliverance Tabernacle, Inc. for 48 years, under the leadership of Apostle Dorain Elizabeth Alston since 1972.

Rosetta leaves to cherish her memory, her one aunt Ines Rucker, her two Sisters-in-law; Janice Kennedy Seward and Barbara Seward, two sons; Milton (Vondell) Lee, Jr. and John Thomas King, two daughters; Rosetta King and Barbara King, six Grandchildren; David Ash, Kendra (Boubacar) Seyni Souley, Cassandra Lee-Williams, Latoya Taylor, Jermika Sade Depas, and Ayanna Depas, six Great Grandchildren; Rashid, Yasin, Amir, Naimah, Aaliyah and Nevaeh, One special adopted daughter; Celia Mitchell and her God Mother Missionary Constance Tisdale, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, saints & friends.
