Obituary for Edith Pelka

Print
Edith Pelka, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 19, 2018 after a valiant bout with cancer.

Born in Pecs, Hungary, Edith immigrated with her family to Canada and then the United States at an early age. Edith was a long time resident of Kings Park, NY before recently moving to Rockland County to be closer to her beloved daughter and grandchildren.
True to Edith’s selfless nature, she cared for others as a registered nurse for over 20 years, first as a labor and delivery nurse at Huntington Hospital, and then as a care coordinator for Emblem Health patients. Later in life, Edith turned her passion for nature and the outdoors into her own landscape design business.
Edith is survived by her father Adam Bank, husband Donald Pelka, son Christopher Pelka, daughter Jaclyn Albert, son-in-law Jonathan Albert, and grandchildren Jillian, Chloe and Ben.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Augustine's Church in New City on Saturday, October 27, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to benefit lung cancer research is appreciated.
