Obituary for Joan Ferrara

Joan Ferrara
Joan Ferrara passed away suddenly after a brief illness at Phelps Memorial Hospital on January 23rd. She was born on October 2, 1954 in Queens, New York to Peter and Rosemary Ferrara. She was a 1974 graduate of Nyack High School. Joan was a gifted artist who enjoyed making jewelry, painting and traveling. Family was very important to Joan and the time she spent with them was very special. Joan financially supported many charitable organizations that were close to her heart. She was a long-time resident of Valley Cottage, New York.
Joan is survived by her sisters Catherine Phillips of Rhinebeck, NY, Eileen Phillips of Pine Bush, NY, Robert and Cynthia Ferrara of Cable, Wisconsin, Irene Ferrara of North Andover, MA and Ann Marie and Michael Hanbury of Middletown, NY. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Visitation is on January 28th at Hannemann Funeral Home, Nyack NY from 10 am until 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Church, Nyack, NY at 12 noon.
