Obituary for Winifred E. McCourty
Winifred Elizabeth McCourty was born on November 13th 1949 in New York City, New York to Reginald (John) and Rachel McCourty.
Winifred was the oldest of 3 children. She had two brothers, Michael and Calvin (deceased, October 16 1990), who were twins
Around 1957, her parents moved the family to Nyack, New York, where Winifred went through the Nyack School System. She then attended Rockland Community College.
Winifred worked in the computer department and Desktop Publishing as an Editorial Assistant. She loved to read, which led to her love of travel. She visited many countries and cultures. In her pastime, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheting.
Winifred also enjoyed volunteering her time to help people learn about God’s word and the Bible.
Winifred is survived by her brother, Michael, her niece, Mayanni, her nephews, Markus, Devin and Jason, as well as cousins and friends.
