Obituary for Morgan H. Scott, Sr.

Morgan Howard Scott 50, of Nyack, NY left this life on Thursday April 18, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

“Zeek”as we so endearingly called him was born on September 5, 1968 to the late Priscilla Ann Harrell-Scott and Robert “Bookie” Lee Scott Jr.

Morgan was Educated early on in both Utica City School District and Nyack Public Schools as well. Morgan was very active while in high school both in Utica and in Nyack . Morgan was the Quarterback for both football teams during his attendance and he also ran track. Morgan was always excited about his accomplishments no matter how big or small. Morgan went on to eventually graduate from Nyack High School in 1986.

Morgan decided early on in life what was important and stuck to the code, along with three other young men he started his own organization to help community youth. The organization named - Bro-Phi-Bro which was geared at an Anti-Drug message which he lived by the entirety of his life. Morgan never drank nor did drugs, something he was very proud of. Morgan has changed lives right from the start.

As Morgan moved along in his journey for knowledge he landed at SUNY Brockport right after high school where he pursued Spanish, his goal was to be a teacher. It was there that he met the love of his life and his future wife Arleen Bermudez-Scott who later gave him 2 beautiful sons, Morgan Jr. and Elijah. While at Brockport Morgan found one of his many loves, he also decided that he would pledge Alpha-Phi-Alpha and it was then he found his second family! Anything Morgan joined he dedicated himself too fully. Morgan was an Alpha - Phi- Alpha till the moment he took his last breath.

Morgan was a member of many organizations, he played in electronic football leagues all across the United States. Morgan Coached Semi-Pro-Football Teams both in Utica, Ny and Monroe, NY.

Morgan found his career soon after working along side his Uncle Timmy in bridge painting. He was deftly afraid of heights and knew that he had to explore other options. He entered an apprenticeship and worked his way up, working in several areas of civil engineer with an emphasis in construction. A career he loved and flourished in for over 30 years. He was currently employed with Savin Engineers, P.C. a job he most certainly loved.

Morgan leaves to mourn his beautiful wife of 23 years Arleen, 3 sons Morgan Howard Scott Jr., Elijah David Scott, both of Chester, NY and Justin Scott of Manhattan, NY, his brothers , Jen (Natasha) Scott , Nanuet, NY, Jared ( Cindy) Harrell, Tampa, Florida and Ian (Cayla) Scott of West Virginia, 3 sisters Maiya Scott, Goldsboro, NC, Natasha (Tyrone) Daniels, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Tomica Harrell of Nyack, NY.
