Robert 0. Weyrauch

89, retired umpire and Con Ed emergency man

NYACK --- Robert 0. Weyrauch of Nyack died Monday, April 29, 2019.

Bob was born May 16, 1929 in the Bronx, NY. He left high school to enlist in the United States Navy and earned a World War II Victory Medal for his service as a Seaman First Class. He then worked for Con Edison, first as a lineman and then as a troubleshooter/emergency man. He retired after 42 years of service.
Prior to moving to Rockland County in 1980, Bob managed Babe Ruth and Little League baseball teams in the Bronx. After his move to Rockland County, he became a member of the Rockland County Umpires Association. Well known to baseball players in the county for his many years of service and easily recognized by his white hair, Bob has had the distinction of having parents of young players remember him umpire them when they were young. Games umpired by Bob in Rockland County included all ages from Little League to college teams, plus women's and men's adult leagues.
For the last two years, Bob has resided at the Tappan Zee Manor Assisted Living in Nyack where he was active, and recently served on the community council as a spokesperson for the residents. Bob thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Tappan Zee Manor family. He had many friends among the residents as well as staff.

Married for 54 years, Bob was predeceased by his wife Katherine who died in 2004. Survivors include his son Robert, daughter-in-law Maria, of Ossining, NY, and their daughter Katelyn, of East Norriton, PA; his daughter Patricia, son-in-law Anthony, of Parsippany, NJ, and their daughter Mary Grace Schiavone of East Hanover, NJ, and their son Daniel, and his wife Stephanie, of Houston, TX. Great grandchildren include Dominick, Gianna, and Anthony Schiavone of East Hanover.
