Obituary for Lorraine M. Lowery

New City - Lorraine M. Lowery (Quick) passed away on June 30th at the age of 94 under the loving care of her family and friends. Hospice of Cortland County supported Lorraine and her family with love, kindness, and respect at the end of her life. Lorraine is survived by her husband Jim Lowery (94) of New City, N.Y. , as well as her sister, Norma K. Reiman (96) (Norma's husband Frank deceased) of Nyack, N.Y. Lorraine was loved by her son Jim and his wife Sue of Stony Point and their three children Jenni (Jenni's husband Randy), Bobby and Jimmy, as well as her daughter Kathleen and her husband Dale of Virgil, N.Y. and their two children Sara and Matt. Her family was the center of Lorraine's life. She cared for them as infants and gave unconditional love throughout their growing years. Teaching her grandchildren to enjoy cooking, sewing, gardening, and playing pinochle were her passions. As a young woman, Lorraine worked for Lederle Laboratories as a secretary where she met her husband Jim. In later years, she worked for her neighbor doing billing and pattern making in the clothing industry. Lorraine spent as much time as possible at her summer home (Sun-Up) in the Catskills and shared this piece of heaven with family and friends. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, we will all miss you, but the memories you gave us will ensure we laugh, cry and are comforted by your passing. We are ready to say goodbye and we love you! A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann's Church in Nyack on Friday July 5th at 11:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack, NY.
