Obituary for Anna C. Holley

Anna C.  Holley
On July 17, 2019 Anne C. Holley passed away at Buckingham Nursing Home, Norwood, NJ at the age of 106. She was born in West New York, New Jersey on June 11, 1913, the daughter of Elizabeth and Frederick Carlton. In 1937 she married George B. Holley who predeceased her in 1987. George was a WW II veteran, serving in New Guinea and the Philippines.
Living most of her adult life in Maywood, NJ Anne was very active in St. Martin’s Episcopal church, the PTA, and as a Girl Scout leader. Upon her husband’s retirement they moved to Crestwood Village in Whiting, NJ where she was active in the Women’s Club, the Ambulance Corps’ Women’s Auxiliary, and Fernwood Clubhouse enjoying bocce, swimming and cards.
In 2006 she moved to Orangeburg where she resided until May 2013 when she moved to The Buckingham. She is survived by her daughter Barbara of Naples, FL and her granddaughter Susan D. Lind and husband Kevin and great grandson, Hunter William.
She will be interred at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport, NY along side her beloved husband and many generations of his family on Tuesday, July 23rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockland County Association for the Visually Impaired, 260 Old Nyack Turnpike, Spring Valley NY 10977.
