Toby Lee  Jackson
Toby Lee Jackson left us and entered into peaceful rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2019. Toby was born June 20, 1934 in Camden, AL, to Ethel Robinson-Murray and Willie Robinson. She was blessed with loving grandparents, (Alabama and Willie Henry) who . nurtured her through her Elementary and High School years; with a strong affiliation with the Methodist Church (Wayman Chapel A.M.E Zion in Coy, Alabama). While attending college at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama she met and married Samuel Jackson on April 15, 1953. She joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Tuskegee, AL and served there until she moved to New York State in 1955. She was employed by the Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg, NY. She continued to study nursing education for several years attending both Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY and Dominican College of Blauvelt, NY. She became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nyack, NY in 1957, served on various church auxiliaries, and was elected to serve as Church Clerk in 1982-August 3, 1988. She then united with the First Immanuel Baptist Church on August 7, 1988 and continued to serve as Church Clerk. She regularly attended church, Sunday School, Prayer Meeting and Bible Study. She taught Sunday School as an Assistant In­ Teen Teacher for several years. She retired from the Rockland Psych Center in 1989 after 33 years of service from the position of Nurse Administrator.
Toby was predeceased by her mother Ethel Robison-Murray her brother Arthur (Gewndolyn) Murray, her daughter Teletha Jackson and her niece Carol Chapman. She is survived by her devoted husband Samuel
L. Jackson, Sr.; their son Samuel L. (Joy) Jackson, Jr. of Ottwa, IL; daughters Sharon Jackson of Spring Valley, NY.; Olivia Collins (her two children Jaida and Julian of South Fallsburg, NY; Amya McCray of

Brooklyn, NY; her brother Thomas (Gwendolyn) Murray of Henderson, NC and her sister Bertha Johnson of Haverstraw, NY.
Toby has a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand children who include: Demetrius (LaWonda) Alleyne, Jauris, Justin, Kennedy and Rylei Alleyne of Waldrof, Md.; Pandora Jackson of Haverstraw, NY; Tobias Ransome and Tyrell Jackson of Spring Valley, NY; Maurice Jackson of Monsey, NY; Marcus Jackson and Adrianna Battle-Jackson of Fayetteville, NC; Samuel L. (Stephanie) Jackson III, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Serria, and Savon Jackson of Battle Creek, MI and Paul Walker-Jackson of Martinez Califomia. She is adored by her cousins, nieces and nephews alike. She was a mother, a mentor and confidant to many.
Visiting will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Hanneman Funeral Home, 88 S. Broadway, Nyack, NY from 5 PM until 8 PM. Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Hanneman Funeral Home beginning at 10 AM sharp with burial to follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 220 Brick Church Rd., in Spring Valley, NY.
