Obituary for Camilla A. Dunn

Camilla A. Dunn
Camilla Gantner Dunn transcended to the heavens on the early evening of November 10th.

Camilla passed on knowing she was loved beyond measure...surrounded by her family, poetry, the warm fragrance of frankincense, romantic music and a gentle caress.

Camilla was born on June 25th, 1939 to Wilhelm and Catherine Gantner, the second born of thirteen children. She was raised by ‘a young couple in love’ in many towns throughout South Jersey, most notably Ellwood and Hammonton, the blueberry capital of the world. Upon graduation from St. Joseph’s High School in Hammonton, she ventured into NYC to work at AT&T on Varick Street. It was there that she met and fell in love with her devoted husband Thomas. They traveled from work to their respective homes via the 168th Street Subway. Their office romance blossomed into marriage on February 13th, 1960.

Camilla and Tom raised seven adult children, Janice (Sal), Bernadette (Igor), Thomas (Lillian), William, Patrick (Elizabeth), Jacqueline (Michael) and Carole (Danny). They were blessed with twenty one grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Upon securing the well-being of her children, Camilla returned to college and became a registered nurse. She landed a job at Manhattan’s prestigious NY Presbyterian Hospital, an accomplishment she and we were most proud of.

Camilla’s biggest contribution to life was her love of humanity, her endearing smile and the ability to find the good in all of us.
