Obituary for Lynn W. Saaby

Lynn W. Saaby
Lynn Saaby died peacefully on November 25, 2019. He was 83 years old. Son of Walter and Edna Saaby, Lynn grew up in Edgebrook, Illinois and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diana, his sister
Gail Graunke and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn graduated from Beloit College in 1963. He served in the army reserves and was called into active duty during the Berlin Crisis. A job with the American Hospital Supply Corporation brought him to Nyack.

Here he was able to enjoy downhill skiing (an old passion), canoeing, water skiing, and most importantly, sailing. He was a long time member of the Nyack Boat Club and active on the race committee. Lynn served for many years as a trustee of the Edward Hopper House Museum and Learning Center and was a member and chair of the Architectural Review Board of Upper Nyack.

Having retired from AHSC, he put his carpentry talents to use in various renovation projects for friends and clients alike, and for Habitat for Humanity. During this time, he joined Jan Connor Real Estate and stayed on to run the agency after Ms. Connor retired.

A celebration to honor Lynn is being planned for the future. A contribution may be made to a charity of your choice or to People to People at 121 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954.
