Obituary for Barbara D. Challacombe

Barbara D. Challacombe
Barbara D. Challacombe of Piermont, NY passed away on January 5, 2020, she was 73 years old. Daughter of the late Robert W. and Dorothy C. (Ahrens) Challacombe, Sr., she graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in 1964 and attended Rockland Community College. Barbara worked at Nyack Hospital for 9 years before working as an administrative assistant for Lederle Labs where she was employed for 29 years retiring in 2001. She belonged to the Orangetown Nyack Senior Citizens and the St. Ann’s Church Rosary Society.

Barbara is predeceased by her brothers Gregory J. who passed away on February 27, 2007 and Thomas who passed away on March 31, 2015.

She is survived by her loving brothers and sisters-in-law Robert W. (Darlene), Kevin J. (Nina), Angela and Susan. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews J. J. (Maureen) Michael, Eric, Pamela (Chad), Greg, Jr., Robert, Krista (Peter) and Karina (Zac) and her great nephews Luke, Connor, Christopher, Chase, Luca, Dominic and great nieces Faye, Aryana and Karsyn.

Visiting will be held on Thursday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St. Ann’s RC Church in Nyack, NY with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY.
