Obituary for Mildred "Byrdie" L. Franco
Mildred (Byrdie) Franco, died Wednesday, January 8th, at Crest Haven Nursing Care Center in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. Born in 1925, Byrdie lived most of her life in Nyack, NY. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, John Franco Sr.
Byrdie was the devoted mother to Dona Mattia (Carl), Bill Franco (Madeline) and predeceased son, John Franco Jr. (Debbie). She will be sadly missed by her 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Byrdie was a parishioner of St Ann’s Catholic Church in Nyack. She was a devoted member of the St. Ann’s Rosary Society and an active member of the Nyack Senior’s Group.
Byrdie will always be remembered around Nyack, walking hand and hand with her husband John. She also spent many years working lunch hours at the Office Restaurant in Nyack. Family and friends will dearly miss her warm and friendly smile and presence in their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack on Saturday, January 18th from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., immediately followed by internment at the Rockland County Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Byrdie’s name, to the American Stroke Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
