Former resident of Nyack Ulysses Puryear Blackwell, well known as "Bill", age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning January 1, 2020 in his home in Baltimore, Maryland after a long battle with cancer. Bill was born in Oxford, North Carolina on October 27, 1939 to Lilia P and Will Blackwell. Bill worked at General Motors in Tarrytown, NY and Baltimore, MD where he retired from the company. Bill is survived by his three children Lionel, Lenora, and Leshanda (Tyrone) all of Nyack, NY; mother of his children and former wife Edith Lee Blackwell; five grandchildren Shante, Brittany, Ashley, Jashon, and Tylyn; devoted nephew Andre Swann and niece Phyllis Swann; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and extended family residing in Buffalo, New York.
At his request, no funeral service will be held. Private service held for immediate family only.
