Obituary for Henry R. Renella
Henry Renella Sr. of New City, NY passed away on January 29th 2020 at the age of 89, with his family by his side.
Devoted husband of Mary Lou for 63 years, loving father of Beth and daughter-in-law Lynda, Michael, Henry and daughter-in-law Gayle, and beloved PopPop of Christine and Jacqueline, who he adored.
The youngest of nine brothers and sisters, Henry is predeceased by his siblings, who collectively, will always be remembered as the well-known “Renella Clan” of Nyack, NY.
Henry served in the United States Navy and was a longstanding member of The Haverstraw Elks, where he loved playing cards and spending time with his friends. He retired from Orange and Rockland Utilities after a long career. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and always remembered for his dedication to his family, traditions, his unexpected humor, and quick wit.
In remembrance and celebration of his life, the family will accept visitors on Monday, February 3rd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hannemann’s Funeral Home in Nyack, NY followed by a burial ceremony on Tuesday February 4th at 11:00 am At St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw. Friends should meet directly at the cemetery on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to United Hospice of your choice or The Humane Society of New York.
