Obituary for Lonnie "Loni" Davis
Lonnie “Loni” Davis one of seventeen children was born on November 11, 1947 (along with her twin Herbert, whom preceded her in death) in Nyack, NY to the late Edward Davis and Mary Jones Davis.
Lonnie was a lifelong resident of Nyack where she attended the Nyack School System. She worked at various jobs throughout her life, the most recent position as bar manager at the Elks Club where she left her mark and was affectionately known as “Butter, Ma, Sis and Auntie”. Her passion was reading, doing puzzles and cooking.
She is predeceased in death by thirteen siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Tony Maurice Bartley his wife Desiree “Rita” Harris Bartley of Nyack, NY and Dwayne Clifton Bartley (fiancée Lisa Dogostiano) of Cornelius, NC and two grandsons Dewohn Maurice Bartley of Nyack, NY and Dwayne Clifton Bartley, Jr. of Alabama State University. Two sisters Betty Davis of Columbia, SC and Jeanie Lanier of Spring Valley, NY. A brother Richard Davis of New York and a host nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Lonnie fought a courageous battle for over four years with the help of her friends and family, until surrendering her independence. She finally resided at The Joseph Raso Hospice Residence where she transitioned on Friday, January 31, 2020 with her sister, family and friends at her side.
