It is with a heavy heart that we inform you; Mireille Cherilus, age 54, of Bridgeport, CT beloved wife of Lessonn Cherilus, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of Marie Petit-Frère and the late Estilis Fleurissaint.
She was born on February 20, 1966 in Miragoâne, Paillant (Haiti). Mireille came to the United States in 1987 and settled in Nyack NY for several years before moving to Bridgeport, CT in 1996 with her family. She worked at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center for over 22 years. She was a hardworking, caring woman who was loved by her colleagues. Mireille was known to be an excellent cook, and more importantly an incredible wife and mother who enjoyed shopping with her family and friends.
Mireille was more than a mother to her 5 children. She was an amazing woman, being a mom to anyone who needed one, her house was yours. She had a huge heart, going above and beyond for those who needed help. She truly was an extraordinary woman. Her smile and her laugh will be missed. She changed so many people's lives, and so many will never forget her. She treasured time spent with family, especially her children, and the memories they created and the love she gave will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband of 32 years, Lessonn, survivors include her loving mother (Marie Petit-Frère) and Stepfather of 49 years (Aquil Petit-Frère), her loving children (Willeme Cherilus; Jameson Cherilus; Murielle Joseph, Anderson Cherilus; and Christina Cherilus), her loving siblings (Jean Robert Zephir; Guirlene Rene; Myrloude Bellevue; Yollete Petit-Frère Levy; Achil Petit; Woodson Petit-Frère; Guerlie Lafluer; Mirlande Louis; Thony Petit-Frère; Ronel Petit-Frère; Diony Petit-Frère; Clairmithe Fleurissaint; Elourdes Fleurissaint; Eric Fleurissaint; Ogee Fleurissaint; Edith Saintfleur; Emile Saintfleur; Fritzner Saintfleur Simone Fleuriassaint; Ginette Perou; Gina Perou; and Marlene Perou), three grandchildren, Neriah Cherilus, Sael Joseph, and Anderson Jr. Cherilus, as well as several other brothers & sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Funeral services, including wake and morning services, will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship (75 guests with mask), 384 New Hempstead Rd, New City, NY 10956 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in The Brick Church Cemetery (40 guests), 221 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977. The repast will take place at 18 Pierce Drive Stony Point, NY 10980 (50 guests). Please note, entry to any of the services is not guaranteed due to limited capacity.
