On Thursday, August 20, 2020 James DeStaso Jr., loving husband and father of six children, passed away at age 86.

James was born on January 2, 1934 in Bronx, NY to James and Tina. He served in the U.S. Army in the 1960’s. After his honorable discharge, he received an engineering degree from New York University. He began his career at Ford Motor Company and General Motors before becoming a business owner of several gas stations and vending machine businesses over the years. He married Rosemary Spano on August 28,1955 and together they raised 6 children.

James had a passion for golf and joined Rockland Country Club where he spent many of his days on the golf course. His greatest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades, where no project or problem was too hard or too big to solve.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary, his children, Theresa Perrin (Robert), James DeStaso (Donna), Tina Lowry (Kenneth), Nicholas DeStaso, Regina Spilotras (Robert) and Margie Fazulak (David); his grandchildren, James (Denise), Tiffany (Anthony), Christopher (Brittany), James, Anthony, Isabella, Alex, Nicole, Juliana, Robert, Madison, and Luke; and his great-grandchildren, Sofia, Johnny, Joseph, Chase and Brady.

Services will be held at Hannemann Funeral Home located at 88 S. Broadway, Nyack, NY on Sunday, August 23rd and Monday, August 24th, from 4pm-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25th at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church located at 128 Parrott Rd. West Nyack, New York.
