Lula Mae  Cotten
Lula Mae Cotten was born on March 9, 1935, to the late Fred Douglas Cotten and Thelma Mae Cotten in Pittsboro, NC. Lula departed this earth on December 12, 2020, in Monsey, NY.
Lula graduated Horton High School in 1952, and attended A&T State University, where she was one of the first Soror’s of Zeta Phi Sorority Inc., where she was crowned Phi Beta Sigma Queen. She was also a member of ROTC.
Lula retired from Rockland Psychiatric Center, Orangeburg, New York in 1992.
Lula was known for her glam and diva like style. You would never catch Lula Mae without her nails, hair and that beautiful smile.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Terry M. Cotten and one son, Shawn Eanes.
Lula is survived by her five sons: Joseph Cotten (Sandra) of Monsey, NY, Corey Eanes of Nanuet, NY, Antoine Eanes of Monsey, NY, Rennie Eanes of Pittsboro, NC, and Jeffrey Rawlings of Ridgeland, SC; one brother, Willard Cotten (Linda) of Chapel Hill, NC, five sisters, Earnestine Reaves Maynor (Billy) of Spring Valley, NY, Gertrude Williams of Pittsboro NC, Linda Hill (George) of Pittsboro, NC, Bernice Adams of Nanuet, NY and Patricia Marlow (Buddy) of Garner, NC; 20 grand-children, 26 great grandchildren, and two cats Misty and Solomon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
