Walter C. Blount
Walter C. Blount Ill passed away January 21,2021. He was 73. He moved to Washington DC from Nyack and Orangeburg, NY ( Tappan Zee High school) to attend Howard University. Before graduating from Howard he married his child hood sweetheart Linda Steward. They raised two daughters in Washington DC. He was a consummate musicologist, even though he taught math and worked for the National Urban League. In fields related to music, he had his own weekly show on public radio station WPFW. He was equally well known for his sense of humor, and loyalty to his friends and those who needed a father figure. He will be sorely missed by his daughters Elissa Blount Moorhead(Mario) and Ericka Blount Danois( Alejandro), his grandchildren Mahsati and Ziggy Moorhead, Maia and Laila Danois, his former wife Linda Steward Blount Berry, sister Faith Blount and niece Zakiya Lesley, cousins ,nephews and many members of his adopted extended family. There will be a virtual memorial on February 21,2021 at 12 noon.
