Obituary for Jack R. Barrett

Jack R. Barrett
Jack Barrett passed away, at the age of 23, on August 30, 2022. He will be sorely missed by his parents who loved him so dearly and his brothers Luke and Owen, who loved him unconditionally. He is survived by his grandparents, Maureen and James Gillespie, and Mary Barrett. His grandfather Donald Barrett is previously deceased but loved him his whole life.
Jack was blessed with a large and loving extended family who never failed to support him in a million little and very big ways. He knew he was loved every minute of his life. So many thanks to the Barrett, Barrett-Beckers, Calabrese, Cleary, Dixon, Gillespie, Macho, Meers, Nadeau, Pisco, Prisco, and Spoonley families.
Jack was fortunate to have been cared for by the most engaged and loving group of women throughout his life. He relished every hug and hair stroke. Thank you Aunt Betty Melley, Elena, Jesse, Amanda, Rosie, Allie, Kristy, Kathy, Jamie, and Marie.
In the spirit of their giving, Jack’s family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, that you donate an hour of time to give someone a helping hand or that you support your local hospitals or services that provide aid to individuals with disabilities. Jack lived as beautifully as he did through the services of Jesse Kaplan (Boces), Camp Venture, and Jawanio. They all could use a helping hand as an acknowledgement to their enduring commitment to the wellbeing of people with disabilities and their families.
