Obituary for Joanise Jeanne Jeanty

Joanise Jeanne Jeanty
Joanise Jeanne Jeanty was born on February 14, 1946 to the union of Mr. Iloji Joanis and Mrs. Servilia Belange in Petit-Goave, Haiti. She moved to the United States with her two daughters in 1986.

She married Ulysse Jeanty on March 3, 1976 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Joanise received her nursing degree in Haiti and worked for several years as a nurse. As Ulysse continued to travel around the world as an engineer, Joanise decided to stop working in order to raise her children.
Although she stayed at home to meet the needs of her children, she remained adventurous as she enjoyed travelling to places like Panama, and Florida.
Her first job in the United States was at a cosmetic factory named Pavion LTD. She then took classes at Rockland BOCES. After which she obtained a job at Nyack Manor & Friedwald Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
As a young child her father instilled in her the importance of God and being a part of the Catholic Church. As a member of the St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, she enjoyed traveling with the Haitian Apostolat of Nyack to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Canada to celebrate various Saints. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends as a way to console others and show love and appreciation. As the youngest and only living survivor of her siblings, Jeanne worked hard on making sure all of her nieces and nephews were taken care of in Haiti. She was outward focused and selfless as she strived on giving and meeting the needs of others.
Joanise Jeanne Jeanty departed this life on Sunday, June 14, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysse Jeanty.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her daughters; Fayolle Jeanty of New Hempstead, NY and Marie Esther Jeanty-Rein & son-in-law Michael Jeanty-Rein of Bronx, NY: Her sister; Dormeliane Joanis, of Port-au-Prince, Haiti: Her nephews and nieces; Dormeson Joanis and Josianne Jean-Francois of Maryland, Gregory, Elsie and Ralph Joanis of Port-au-Prince Haiti; and a host of other relatives and friends.
