Obituary for Margaret E. Dailey

Margaret Eleanor Dailey (nee Heinig) age 98, a resident of Dowling
Gardens Sparkill, New York died peacefully on January 23, 2016.
She was born in Manhatten April 29, 1917 to Charles and Margaret
Heinig. Eleanor married John (Jack) E. Dailey on August 9, 1941 at
St. Ann’s Church, Nyack, New York. They moved to the Detroit, MI.
area for a short period of time before finally settling in Rockland
County where they raised their 3 children. They were married 36
years before Jack’s death in 1977.

Eleanor retired from New York Trap Rock Corporation as a telephone operator/receptionist. Prior to New York Trap Rock she was employed
by New York Telephone Company working first in their Sparkill, New
York office then at the Main St. office in Nyack, New York.

Eleanor is survived by her sister Alice Huffman residing in Spring, Texas, her loving children
Jack (Carolyn) residing in Palm Coast, Florida, Bill (Elissa) Valley
Cottage, New York and Carolyn (Frank) Bluffton, South Carolina.
She enjoyed her time with her 7 Grandchildren: Matthew, Meghan,
Jennifer, Maureen, Kristen, Chris and Scott. She was blessed with 12
Great Grand Children as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Very special Thank You to Eleanor’s niece, Kathleen Tallman, for the
dedication and devotion to her aunt.

Eleanor was pre-deceased by her sisters Lorraine (McKenna),
Charlotte (Tallman) and brother Charles (Heinig).

Eleanor’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Nyack
Hospital, the caring staff at Dowling Gardens as well as the staff,
therapists and nurses at Tolstoy Foundation in Valley Cottage. A
special thank you to Dr. Roy Eriksen and Dr. Brijender Batra for their
skilled and compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 at
Hanneman Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack, New York. A mass of
Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 28 at 10 a.m at
St. Ann’s Church Nyack, New York. In lieu of flowers, please make a
donation to Association-Visually Impaired, 260 Old Nyack Turnpike,
Spring Valley, New York 10977
