Obituary for Emil Parietti

Emil  Parietti
Emil A. Parietti, Jr. of Nyack, NY passed away on November 17, 2017, he was 81 years old. He was most recently a resident of Jupiter , FL. Emil attended St. Ann’s School in Nyack and attended and graduated from Nyack High School in 1954. He participated in the NY State Apprentice Program for Masonry and the International Institute for Fringe Benefits Funds for union members.
Mr. Parietti was the President, Business Agent and Chairman of the Fringe Benefit Funds for both Local 29 and Local 5 Bricklayers and Allied Crafts covering 6 counties in the Hudson Valley, he was a Rockland County resident for over 60 years. Mr. Parietti held the office of Treasurer for the Rockland Co. Building Trades for 10 years. He also served as International Vice President for Plastering throughout the United States. He was a Life Member of Chelsea Hook & Ladder Co. of the Nyack Fire Dept. He held all of the Line Officers positions and was named Fireman of the Year in 1963 for his actions at a fatal fire in the Village of Nyack. Emil was a member of the Nyack Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and boating in Florida. While living in Florida he was a member of the Pompano Beach Power Squadron. He loved life and his many friends.
Emil is predeceased by his wife Gloria (nee Brettmann), a brother John Parietti and sister Emily Hann.
He is survived by his loving life partner Lorraine Buono, three daughters; Loreen Parietti of NH, Linda McDonald of Cherry Valley, NY and Lisa Parietti of Cherry Valley, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Chelsea, Christen, Heather, Kelly, Anthony, Kayla and Jeremy and 10 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Ann’s RC Church, 16 Jefferson St. Nyack, NY. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack. Visiting will be held on Tuesday from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack, NY. Chelsea H & L Co. #2 will hold a firematic service at 7:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
