Obituary for Helen J. Horowitz

Helen Joan (Cuttner) Horowitz, 79, of Tuxedo, NY died peacefully on March 23, after a long illness. She was born in New York and spent her childhood living between Monsey, Miami and Manhattan. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1956. In 1959, she married her husband, Arnold, with whom she was married until his death in 2012. In 1977, Helen joined Arnold in business as she began her career at Suffern Rug & Furniture. It was there where her natural talent for interior design and salesmanship flourished. She and Arnold shared a love of the Adirondacks. Together they created a beautiful home on The Great Sacandaga Lake. Throughout the summer months, their home became a gathering place for family and friends and created special memories for all who visited.

Helen is survived by her sisters Judy and Caryl; sons Alan, Rob, Jeff, and Jeff’s wife Aileen. Helen’s most cherished role was that of being a Nana. She adored her beloved grandchildren, Izzie, Hannah, Noah, Jordyn, Kyler and Alivia.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 25th at 12:30 PM at Beth Am Temple, 60 East Madison Avenue in Pearl River, NY. Shiva will be observed immediately following at Jeff and Aileen’s in Suffern and again Monday 12:00PM-3:00PM & 7:00PM-9:00PM & Tuesday Noon-3:00
