Obituary for Joseph John Pascarell

Joseph John Pascarell, born on June 7, 1961 passed away quietly in his home on January 21, 2022. Joe was a dynamic personality with private and public personas. By day, he concentrated on improving his musical skills, playing chess, and stock market day trading. On many nights Joe headlined, entertaining enthusiastic Pink Floyd fans eager to take in his guitar and vocal prowess, as he delivered searing guitar riffs, visceral vocals, and riveting talk box solos. Joe helped form The Machine with his close personal friend (and drummer) Tahrah Cohen. The band played for some 30+ years, nationally and internationally. As a young teen, Joe had a passion for and showed an incredible aptitude for playing the guitar He joined a few bands as a teenager and then helped start The Machine in 1988. Throughout the years, Joe worked on improving his technique, and even played mandolin at Carnegie Hall in NY. He spent many years enhancing his vocal range and delivery, emulating Pink Floyd remarkably well. Joe enjoyed playing chess, viewing sports, driving cars (Porsche), watching comedies (The Honeymooners), reading books, and practicing music. Joe had many accomplishments in his career, and some tough spots as well. The band had had great success, but the recent pandemic put a crunch on those in the entertainment industry. Perhaps Joe’s greatest enjoyment was from spending time with fans both during and after his performances. He is survived by four siblings, his niece, Sara, and his nephew and spouse, Noah and Mellissa.
