Obituary for Peggy Floyd

Peggy  Floyd
Peggy Joyce Floyd was born on April 29, 1941, in Clinton, North Carolina to the late Robert & Estelle Boykin. She moved to Spring Valley, NY at the age of 21 with her late husband Lenwood(Bill) Floyd and her oldest son, James.
Peggy was a phenomenal woman of God who devoted her life to raising her children after the untimely death of her husband in 1982. She was a kind & loving woman who continuously opened her home to others in need.
Peggy loved traveling, listening to gospel music, going to church, and of course cooking. She was known for her famous fried chicken & her unique sense of humor. Peggy loved to laugh, joke & enjoy life.
Peggy worked at Northern Manor nursing home & retired in 2004 after 32 years.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Lenwood (Bill) Floyd, her parents Robert & Estelle Boykin, her siblings Jasper, James (Eddie), Harold, Robert Boykin, and one sister, Annie McLean. Peggy is survived by four siblings Arthur (Doris) Boykin, John (Maeola) Boykin, Mary Boykin, and Roosevelt Boykin; her children James (Michelle) Floyd, William (Barbara) Floyd, Andrew Floyd, and Sharon Floyd; her grandchildren, James (Kathryn) Floyd, Justin (Kiondra) Jones, Ashley Floyd, Jaylen Floyd, William Floyd, Ciara (Arthur) Sawyer, Cassandra Floyd, ShaRonn Mosley, Skylar Jones, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & family.
A special thank you to Angela Floyd (niece) and Kathryn Sheppard (grand daughter) who helped provide and care for her alongside her son William who was her primary caretaker.
There's no doubt Peggy Floyd was the Best Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend; she will be severely missed!
