Obituary for Lawrence P. Moretti Sr.

Lawrence P. Moretti Sr.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the Moretti family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved Lawrence P. Moretti, Sr. on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was constantly surrounded by his loving family and many friends during his battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. For over two years he gave it everything he had and bravely fought the fight. He is survived by his beloved wife Greta (McNeill) Moretti, son Nicholas Moretti and his wife Ariel (Gasparre) Moretti, son Lawrence P. Moretti, Jr., sister Barbara (Moretti) Mullin, granddaughter Serafina Rose Moretti, beautiful nieces, nephews.

Lawrence P. Moretti, Sr. was born on October 13, 1956 in Yonkers, NY and was the younger of two children to Cecilia Conti and Nicholas Moretti. He grew up in Yonkers, NY with a group of close-knit friends whom he kept in touch with throughout his entire life. He attended Manhattan College in Bronx, NY and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked in many engineering firms throughout NYC and later founded CMI Subsurface Investigations, Inc. a Geotechnical and Environmental drilling company which was located in Tappan, NY. Lawrence lived in Pearl River, NY with his wife Greta of 44 years, and his much-loved dog Buddy.

Lawrence was extremely hard working, but his family meant the world to him. He enjoyed spending time on cruises with his wife, going fishing, doing a little gambling in casinos, driving upstate to a friend’s house for a weekend and cooking for everyone. His greatest enjoyment was riding with his friends on his Harley Davidson Softail Heritage motorcycle. He was a member of The Cigar Republic located in Elmsford, NY where he would spend time with great friends, playing cards, and enjoying cigars.

Lawrence was beloved by everyone wherever he went. He was genuinely the kindest human being anyone could know and would do anything for someone in need. He had a pure soul and touched many lives and will be greatly missed beyond measure.
