Peter Malcolm, “Poppy” age 85, of Nyack, died peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Joe Rasso Hospice Residency. Born in Nyack on October 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Gwennie Malcolm. Peter was a lifetime resident in Rockland County. He worked as Vice President in Sales for Harter Corporation in Sturgis, Michigan until the time of his retirement. Peter enjoyed life! He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching his favorite NFL Team, the Giants, he was actively involved in the Episcopal church, and he was an integral part of the leadership for the Venture and Heisman scholarships from 1997 through 2001 at the Rockland Country Club. He loved entertaining, especially during the holidays by playing his favorite music and spending time with family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruthann Malcolm of 65 years. Also surviving are his four loving daughters, Shelley (Rudy) Unczowsky; Gwen Malcolm; Amy Twombly; Allyson (Dan) Sullivan. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren, Nicholas (Kelly) Dominick, Kaitlin (Martin) Dupre, Zachary Dominick, Matthew Unczowsky, Harrison, Connor, Hannah Twombly, and Malcolm and Owen Sullivan. The newest blessings include his great granddaughters Winslow and Amelia Dominick. Brother Bryant Malcolm (the late Joan Malcolm); brother-in-law Jon (Denise) Kip; sister-in-law Patricia Kip (the late Tom Kip). Many nieces and nephews, Tracey (Peter) Brooker, Bruce Malcolm, T.R. (Christine) Kip, Stacey (Scott) Gotay.
All services will be held at the Hannemann Funeral Home located at 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960. Visiting will be held on Thursday, October 5, from 4PM - 8PM and a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, at 12 noon.
